Gratitude

I'm a huge fan of Neil Pasricha's concept of listing 1,000 awesome things and I wanted to make a list of my own as a form of gratitude practice. So this little list will grow gradually as things I adore occur to me!

  1. The second I put a heavy comforter over me after a long day.
  2. The first craving after feeling under the weather.
  3. Waking up to the sound of rain.
  4. When meditating... the point when one's entire self feels oddly soft, heavy and fuzzy; and one has a sense of gently sinking.
  5. Opening the bedroom window on a cool Saturday morning and letting the fresh air in.
  6. Deckle edge books.
  7. Vacation days.
  8. Connecting with kindred spirits.
  9. The scritch of pen against paper (also, the word scritch is delightfully yummy).
  10. Re-reading a beloved book.
  11. The excitement of learning a new thing.
  12. A soft, warm muffin with a generous pat of butter.
  13. Putting on a cozy oversized sweater for the first time since summer.
  14. The excitement of hearing a favorite artist's new music for the first time.
  15. The scent of bread baking in the oven.
  16. Holding a bundle of clothes warm from the dryer.
  17. The word neblina.
  18. The feeling of being fully immersed in a book.
  19. The cleansing tears when a book resonates with me.
  20. Octobers.
  21. That wonderful herbal, grassy scent when cutting vegetables.
  22. Losing myself in a hobby.
  23. Seeing my little one pick up her first hobby!
  24. The soft, wooly fabric growing round by round on my knitting needles.
  25. Days with no meetings on the books.
  26. The blush of orange starting to grow on the trees.
  27. Knowing my daughter is in a supportive environment.
  28. Songs that make you dance involuntarily.
  29. The pretty way fountain pen ink pools slightly in some areas.
  30. Realizing that though being overstimulated is hard, it also lets me percieve more beauty.
  31. Soft breezes.
