Gratitude
I'm a huge fan of Neil Pasricha's concept of listing 1,000 awesome things and I wanted to make a list of my own as a form of gratitude practice. So this little list will grow gradually as things I adore occur to me!
- The second I put a heavy comforter over me after a long day.
- The first craving after feeling under the weather.
- Waking up to the sound of rain.
- When meditating... the point when one's entire self feels oddly soft, heavy and fuzzy; and one has a sense of gently sinking.
- Opening the bedroom window on a cool Saturday morning and letting the fresh air in.
- Deckle edge books.
- Vacation days.
- Connecting with kindred spirits.
- The scritch of pen against paper (also, the word scritch is delightfully yummy).
- Re-reading a beloved book.
- The excitement of learning a new thing.
- A soft, warm muffin with a generous pat of butter.
- Putting on a cozy oversized sweater for the first time since summer.
- The excitement of hearing a favorite artist's new music for the first time.
- The scent of bread baking in the oven.
- Holding a bundle of clothes warm from the dryer.
- The word neblina.
- The feeling of being fully immersed in a book.
- The cleansing tears when a book resonates with me.
- Octobers.
- That wonderful herbal, grassy scent when cutting vegetables.
- Losing myself in a hobby.
- Seeing my little one pick up her first hobby!
- The soft, wooly fabric growing round by round on my knitting needles.
- Days with no meetings on the books.
- The blush of orange starting to grow on the trees.
- Knowing my daughter is in a supportive environment.
- Songs that make you dance involuntarily.
- The pretty way fountain pen ink pools slightly in some areas.
- Realizing that though being overstimulated is hard, it also lets me percieve more beauty.
- Soft breezes.
